The hunt begins!

Daniel and I have, these past days, been talking about a new apartment FOR REAL. Of course, the subject has arised now and then as we (yes, let's face it) have too much stuff. It would be awesome with just one more room (!) and a balcony.

Mmmm, imagine a balcony... You can have breakfast there in the morning, read the newspaper (which we don't have any but we'd of course have to sign up for one), invite your friends over for some wine while watching the sun set, spy on your neighbors (which I'm positive is a lot easier from a balcony than from a kitchen window), have a cup of coffee and so on. A second room would really help aswell as we'd appreciate a guestroom! Would be nice to also have a better spot for a desk and our computers, today they have their own legs and move between the sofa, the bed and the kitchen table which I'm sure shortens their life span :-p

So, today, the hunt for a new apartment has officially begun! First target: Nybohovsbacken 31! This apartment has a great location; a lot closer to Liljeholmen Centrum compared to where we live now and the (soon finished, October 2009) indoor shopping mall with clothing stores like MQ and H&M etcetera. On our way over there we notice how there's only a 15 minute display of the apartment scheduled, apparently there had been a display Sunday. Oh well, we get there with ten minutes to spare (mohaha!) and begin the tour. Once we managed to get in, that is - there were atleast 6 other people there (excluding the estate agent)! The hallway looks ok, we had imagined the size correctly, but once we enter the livingroom we quickly determine we could not fit our furniture in there in a million years!

OK, so moving on (perhaps we could rethink the furniture, not a big deal). The balcony looks alright, not too big (eh, is that even a conceptual possibility?) and not too small. The first bedroom (let's call it bedroom numero uno) is OK in size, it has a window and a WONDERFUL view! However, there are two doors going in and out of this room; one connecting to the livingroom (where we went through) and one connecting to the kitchen (which felt quite odd, I'd rather have the bathroom close by as I more often need to pee than I have to eat... in the middle of the night). Meh, don't you? :-p Summary: a difficult room to furnish!

Alright. So, the kitchen is cute. And I mean cute - it's comfy but small, fresh in white but not fully renovated, we'd have nowhere to put our kitchen table INCLUDING the chairs, and who'd like to eat dinner standing up?! We move back into the hallway (the kitchen is connected with both the bedroom numero uno and the hallway) and enter the bathroom. The bathroom is fully tiled in white and blue with blue covering one wall and white the rest. It has a window which we just love and a bathtub (which we'd toss out), a hand-basin, a modern wall mounted toilet and prepared space for a washing machine. Once we manage to get out of the bathroom (about 1 000 007 people blocking the door) we enter bedroom numero dos. This one looks like the first one, just seems to be missing a window... Since we had discussed everything while taking the walkthrough we didn't need any more time in there, so we handed the broshure and apartment details back to the estate agent and said hasta la vista, baby.

The hunt continues the 6th of September at 12.30 PM.
