Renovations

Had a normal day at work - quite a lot to do as usual :-) Been very tired, which also does happen quite often... All in all a good day, but did get annoyed in the afternoon though due to some renovations going on in the building, on -1 floor (I'm on 0 floor) - my GOD they were drilling in concrete for little over three hours! So, Lina-in-the-warrior-mode phoned the property owner and demanded some answers mohahaha! Seems we will have to put up with this NOISE until mid November (!!!!) This is potentially fatal for me, jeeez I do not like construction work noises >_<>
Daniel went to see his accountant directly after lunch, she seems a good choice! Hoping she'll be able to get the income statement and balance sheet ready in an instant so we can go buy that apartment we've been longing for since we first laid eyes on it.

Will carry on working on the bathroom today which none of us are really looking forward to hehe, but rather looking forward to it being all done! Daniels mum and dad will come visit us Saturday to join in on the fun, and then off for a special surprise! Eeek, almost typed it out, but remembered JUST IN TIME that Lena and Tord might read this ;-)

Wondering how my brother and his gf are doing in Thailand, not heard from him at all so guessing they're busy relaxing and having fun :-)

I hope you all are well! Hugs!

Safety

Good afternoon, folks!
Thought I'd post some very useful information;

A warm shower.

Can you think of anything better in this world? Right now I really cannot find something that'd beat that...

A warm shower, after a day of being cold and tired and really not liking the fact that it's Monday.

A warm shower, a day when you were awaken by rain on the window-ledge at 6.15 AM and you don't have to get up for another 45 minutes.

A warm shower, just before going to bed and you know the sheets are newly changed and you have 8 hours of sleep in front of you. I think I really should be a bear, going into hibernation... Ha, I'd love that! As long as I'm allowed to bring a few things with me of course! Did a test on Facebook and turns out I've got ADHD:

Though you aren’t really crazy, you do have issues. You are impulsive, hyperactive, and not to mention easily distracted. You can’t sit still and you don’t exactly think before you act. You just need to learn how to chill and everything will be good.

With this in mind I'd probably do best bringing distraction, else I wouldn't cope! :-D

Daniel got a call just before dinner, it was Andreas wondering if we could help carry (or Daniel rather as I'm not as strong - yeah I know) a cupboard that he was on his way to buy. Apparently this cupboard originates from the northern part of Sweden and is somewhere around 100-200 years old. It barely fit in his car but all went well! After one hour at the lady's house (it annoyed me greatly she had not even removed the books from the cupboard - we had to help her do that!) we managed to get the cupboard into the luggage space, waved him off and went home!

Started looking at Crank 2 but turned it off after like 20 minutes due to it not being very good, swapped to Shaolin Soccer, which seemed a liiiiittle weird to be honest... Will keep looking tomorrow, now it's time for bed :-)

Good night, sleep tight,
Don’t let the bedbugs bite.
And if they do
Then take your shoe
And knock them ‘til
They’re black and blue!

Renewal

Hellooo my darlings! Been a long weekend, and yet far too short! Managed to finish up pretty well in the bathroom; new sink, new mirror, a new bathroom cabinet and new hooks for the towels. We've also put up a new shelf in the livingroom, now we need more Iittala candlesticks... ;-) Threw away garbage at the recycling station, did a thourough cleaning of the apartment and did the laundry (in the public washing room on the attic as we threw our own washing machine out a couple of days ago)... Jeez this is tiring work! But oh so rewarding

Spoke to mum and dad in the morning about what we had planned for today and decided we'd go there for dinner, which we did! Was very nice, had pizza (*cough* not very healthy I know) and then some yummy coffee. Mum has started a blog aswell so looking forward to reading it, already signed up as a follower :-) She just gave me a ring, Daniel and I have been looking for a shower curtain and just couldn't find one we liked, but she'd found one today on La Redoute which we'll order!
We really like the colour and now, with the different colouring in the bathroom (mostly white), we need a happy colour :-D Red will most definitely do!

Started watching Year One with Jack Black in it, it's very funny - recommend it!

When a couple of lazy hunter-gatherers (Jack Black and Michael Cera) are banished from their primitive village, they set off on an epic journey through the ancient world in Columbia...

Happy hunting! Good night!

And the winner is...

Today, and for another two weeks, my brother will enjoy the lovely life of Thailand, which totally reminds me of mine and Daniels trip there earlier this year. He's staying in Hua Hin which is up north, we went to Khao Lak which is just 70 kilometres north of Phuket (and is where the tsunami hit the worst).

Here are some pictures to remind us all there IS a sun out there! (and yes, I really wanted to remind myself of our trip) ;-)

My darling Daniel the Great has returned from his night out with work - they started off with an hour of racing with gocarts, and guess who won? :-D

This time there is no tournament. This time there are no rules. This time there is only Annihilation.

It's beautiful! Shameful enough it's not in pure gold, what cheapskates, don't you think? After a total and humiliating annihilation of his opponents, ending up merely one second from the standing lap record, they all went for dinner at a restaurant called Göteborg which was a very nice place. Now I'm waiting for Daniel to take me there ;-)

Sleep well!

*hugs*

Back on track

Evening! A quickie before we go to bed, I wanted to show you what greeted me this morning... ;-) We've done some changes at work so had a true barista pro at the office making awesome lattes and cappucinos! For freeeeeee! ^^Very yummy, aaaand they had cinnamon buns aswell! A great way to start the week! Although it did result in shakey hands and some nausea. All worth it!

Daniels parents Lena and Tord came home from the USA Saturday at 11.35 AM. We went there to surprise them... We thought the easiest way to get their attention among all the other globetrotters was to shout the name of their home town, so once we spotted them Daniel shouted:

- Arbogaaah!

It sure got their attention :-)

We're all admiring the huge trunk mountain before heading outside. We managed to fit all but one trunk in our BBB (Beautiful Baby BMW) to save Lena and Tord the trouble of dragging them all onto the bus on way to where they had parked their car. We are positive we would've fitted them all if it hadn't been for the fact that they had packed it full of delicate pressies, and didn't want to let it out of sight! Lunch consisted of PIZZA and a cappucino each for dessert, then they went back to the car to go home and Daniel and I went to bed. Totally exhausted (WE NEEEEED HOLIDAY). Woke up, went for a ride on the quad and then spent the rest of the night in the sofa watching the incredible Hulk (oops I wrote Hunk here, good thing Daniel can read properly) and Monsters vs. Aliens. Both good ones :-)

Sunday: showtime! Went to look at the apartment on Skidskyttevägen 4 and decided we want it ;-) We'll see what happens next! Once back home we called my mum and dad and went to their place as soon as we had finished dinner at our local Thai restaurant - Phrik Thai, awesome food! Anwhoo, was very nice, we had coffee and mum had made her home made apple cake (and dad had helped peeling the apples and getting the cake mold ready), yummy! Got home sometime past 7 PM and began getting the new sink ready. It's a lot of work, still not ready today!

Buuuut, it's a new day tomorrow! Good night everyone!
With love!

Nespresso

Evening all, how are you? We're done tidying now and seated in the livingroom having a Piggelin ;-) Got the estate agent visiting tomorrow which should be fun, I'm dying to see how much the apartment on Skidskyttevägen went for! And also interesting to see what he can offer us and if their firm would be an option for when we sell our place.

While still at work we decided to go to Nespresso on Biblioteksgatan 14 once we got off, and so we did. They have a new flavour named Singatoba;

Refreshing notes of blackcurrant berries and grapefruit accompany sweet woody notes reminiscent of liquorice sticks and certain conifers. It has a rich and distinctive profile and is full-bodied with a touch of acidity.

Sounds quite interesting, will try it tomorrow and give you a full review, promise! Also we got some more Decaffinato Lungo, Decaffinato Intenso and Vivalto. Will be needing coffee for tomorrow and also for Thursday when Micha will be visiting. Oh, before I forget, while at Nespresso we ran into a famous Swedish guy, participating in commercials for one of our bigger food store chains;

He was standing right beside us, shame on me for not asking his autograph ;-)

Oh, USA calling, gotta go! Sleep well!

Cute

Hihi, looks like me and Daniel (with Daniel being the darker one) although not as hairy ;)

Nobody puts baby in a corner!

Patrick Swayze has passed away at the age 57, after battling against stage four pancreatic cancer for almost two years. I think I must've seen his Dirty Dancing and Ghost a million times!

Rest in peace.

Accident

Latest events from our star paparazzis! They are reporting a car accident outside of Kungsör involving a car and an elk.

Probable outcome: car 1 - 0 elk.

Stay tuned for more news! Good night, wherever you are.

Lovely Monday

It's Monday and we're NOT at work, how about that ;-) This is luxury! We're seated at the kitchen table, surfing a little and planning the day. The weather is lovely so thinking we'll take the jeep to the centre of Arboga for a cup of coffee somewhere. I wish (for three more wishes!) that we could have a couple of more days off work - that would have been soooooo nice! Hahaha, you always wish for more, don't you? Human nature i suppose ;-)

We did quite a lot of guitar playing the other night, there's a new Rockband version out: The Beatles! Great fun! Friday night I was only singing but last night I hopped on the guitar challenge, and I loved it! I slapped the base and Daniel played the guitar and we rocked! Makes you feel very musically talented ;-) Hoping for a piano soon!

Played the old one aswell and just loooove 21 Guns by Green Day!

Right, best go outside so this day doesn't just vanish! Have a good Monday!

ROCKBAND

Time for rockband! See you all later ;-) /MWAH!

Magnetising

Helloooo! Went to Västerås today for lunch, and then some strolling at our mecka MediaMarkt. We will be getting a new washing machine so having a look at that :-) After that we went to investigate the surroundings of a house we had seen on Hemnet that's for sale, which looked very nice! That area will definitely be an option for when we decide to leave Stockholm! Moved on to Skultuna where they sell jewellery and so I bought this:

A big trademark here in Sweden named SNÖ (translates to snow). Daniel found two beautiful brown towels and a rug for the bathroom. After that we went to have a look at Åmänningevägen where the Skantz family used to live. Still looks soo much the same, only the wrong cars standing in the driveway and no familiar smiling faces in the windows. We were both very mushy as we left. This led us to decide we could use a cheer-me-up so moved on to the centre of Västerås where we stopped for a latte/cappucino and some cake. Wish we could remember the name, was quite a nice place :-) Daniel showed me with a small spoon how to magnetise your nose:

Of course I had to be worse...

We managed to find our car and then Daniel showed me where he had lived earlier. Stopped by Asplunds on way back to Arboga for some groceries and carried on back to the house. This is the final result:

Looking good huh? ;-) Pork fillet with gratinated potatoes! That goo you see on the bottom of the picture is butter with parsley in it, and some feta cheese on the top. Yumster! :-D

Hope you'll all have a good evening, I'm certain we will!
LOVE from us!

Mind games

It's 12.30 PM and we are still in the house, will be going to Västerås for lunch and some shopping soon!

Yesterday was a relaxing day, we were both quite tired so didn't rush anything really. We started off with a nice breakfast and then some surfing. Found the crime investigation game named Clue for iPhones (like Cluedo) on the internet which we downloaded and started playing. This ended up being the ONLY thing we did for the whole day... *cough*

Around 6PM we took a warm shower and then back to Clue for a while, until we were drowned by our screaming stomachs - 8.30PM??! Eeek! OK, no chance of getting food off the store now as they close at 8PM... Went to the gas station for bread (for breakfast) and then stopped by the closest pizzeria (which we can NOT recommend by the way, I didn't even eat half of my Calzone). Back to some mind boggling mysteries and then to bed, WITH the phone and Clue. I was awake for like five minutes, but Daniel had stayed awake for around 30 minutes to finish the particular chapter of the game. This morning Daniel told me I had woken up a while after I had fallen asleep, I was on my side facing Daniel and had stretched my arm out in the direction of Lena and Tords bedroom.

Lina: Is that the toilet?
Daniel: No, that's mum and dads bedroom...
Lina: Aha.

...

Daniel: I think it would upset them if you went in there to do your stuff...
Lina: Aha.

I checked the bedroom this morning and NO WORRIES guys!

I wonder where I thought I was, I DO know my way around here quite well now...

This Is Life.

Breakfast. Coffee with a sandwich on the terrace in Arboga. The sun is warm and the breeze is causing the leaves to rustle, some of them already bright yellow and orange. It's dead silent, if you count out the birds chirping, or the trees whispering, or the occassional comment from me or Daniel hihi!

This is life (did you hear me sigh with relief?).

Been talking about going to Lindesberg to visit Caroline at her family's summer house, but turns out it's quite a lot further than we had thought. Bleh! I think we need the calm here while waiting
for the REAL holiday in December. Really too long working for a full year with no proper holiday; two weeks in March isn't quite enough to get fully rested. Even though that trip was the best in my life! :-D

Daniel will mow the lawn once the dew has dried, and I'll be the housewife without the kitchen apron again, watering the flowers, doing the dishes and making the beds. Have to go shopping for food, but first we have to DECIDE what to eat. A true industrial country luxury descision ;-)

So how are you guys in Pittsburgh? Having a good time? :-) We will try to catch you on Skype later today!

Richard, I hope you'll have a good weekend and that you can make it to both weddings! Don't forget their pressies! :-D

Mon Cherie, I hope you, Ed and Jack will have a great weekend, wohoo that Ed has today off :-) Looking forward to seeing your blog flourish again ;-) ./mwah!

Oh, and the hunt for a new apartment carries on, we've been having a hard time letting that apartment on Skidskyttevägen go as we totally fell in love with it. Soo, after a looong hard discussion (err well, not really hahaha!) we've decided to have another look in that area :-)

Mini holiday

ZzzzZZZzzz... AH-MA-GAAD I'm so tired! Fell asleep at 2 AM (!) and then up to the unforgiving wake up call at 7 AM. Business as usual ;-)

Had a good evening last night, I bought sushi and waited for Caroline to get off work, then we hopped into the baby BMW and drove to Carolines in Åkersberga. Isa, Carolines black female cat (with a mind of her own) came to meet us at the door and talked quite a lot until she got her dinner hihi. Which, by the way, I could give her! Oh dear, how I love cats... We put OUR dinner (well hellooooo Mister Sushi, love you long time!) on the livingroom table, started the Twilight DVD and began enjoying the evening ;-) Directly after we had finished dinner we made our beloved (HUGE by the way) lattes, with cinnamon on top, shaped as stars (we ARE stars! mohaha) and some added sugar. Not to forget the Singoalla bisquits, mmmmmmm. Shame on me for not taking any pics (yes, Richard, it did happen even though there are no pictures) ;-)

At the moment I'm at my desk having breakfast, a much needed energy boost. Nooo clue how I'm gonna last the day, when you sleep this little you actually feel ill hahaha! Oh well, we've got THREE days off work ahead of us, can't wait :-) Hoping for great weather so we can take a ride in the jeep and have some walks etcetera, we might even go to Örebro eller Västerås for some shopping if we can find the energy as we both could use a pair of new jeans. Perhaps can find our way to a pearl and beads shop aswell, IF we're lucky hihi.

Oh how I love the cool, fresh air in the morning!

Today is 8 years since 9/11.

Thursday 10 September 2009

Tord 58!

Happy birthday! Here's a cake we hope you'll like, with extra marzipan on it!
Hope you guys will have a great time in Pittsburgh :-)

Wednesday 9 September 2009

Sushi, Singoalla and Twilight

Back from work, pasta sallad with chicken is on the table. I'm in the livingroom waiting for Dan the Man, who's in the kitchen talking to his uncle Lennart :-) Lennart turned 50 this Sunday and so we got him, together with the Skantz family, some fine wines which we hope he and his wife Marie will enjoy :-) We were quite interested in them ourselves... *cough*

Work was busy but smooth, and I've had time to scan the internet again for new apartments. Did find a few but have to have a closer look... We were quite interested in an apartment on Tosterövägen (not too far from here) but wanted to investigate the surroundings before we called the estate agent. This turned out to be a brilliant decision as the they were HIDEOUSLY non attractive hahaha! OK, so not Tosterövägen then...

While at work I set the alarm so I would remember to bring the Twilight movie to Carolines where I'll be going tomorrow after work for a Sushi-Singoalla-Twilight night! Looking forward to it!

Right, time to get going - we have tidying on the schedule! Also the Apple event (it's only rock and roll) will begin at 7PM.

Love L

Tuesday 8 September 2009

Surpriiiise!

This time in 95 days we'll be at the airport waiting to board our flight to Pittsburgh! Well, Chicago, rather, as we can't go all the way in one go :-) Daniels parents will be going today and we are honestly a little jealous hahahaha! My New Years Wish will be for more travel money and spare time ;-)

This morning has started quite rough, feels like a possible stressful day, but I do hope I'm wrong. We could all read in the newspaper today that Pernod Ricard will be selling even more trademarks such as Explorer, Renat, Blossa and Chill Out (along with approximatly 40 other brands). According to the newspaper they will also sell some production sites in Denmark. The very thing they said they wouldn't do when they bought V&S... Will see what happens.

Monday 7 September 2009

Girls night out

Evening! Daniel and I just finished dinner, and are now scanning the internet for newly advertised apartments for sale. Finding quite a few nice looking apartments, but we're being a little picky about location hehe.

Oh, by the way, guess what's happening Wednesday? Well, the other day when we went to open house displays we fell in love with the apartment on Skidskyttegatan, remember? Anyway, the estate agent there was extremely nice and so when he called Daniels cell this morning he asked if we were interested in the apartment. Daniel said we were, but that we had discussed it and actually could use a little bigger place; this would only be a five squaremetre upgrade which doesn't really motivate all the work of moving. So the guy asks how far we're at it with OUR apartment in matter of estate agents etcetera, and then offers to come check our place out - no strings attached :-) Soo, he'll be here Wednesday which means we'll be tidying tomorrow haha! WOW, can you believe we're actually on the verge of moving out/moving into a new place? WOHOOO!

Today I've met with Jane, a friend I haven't seen in five (!) years. So much has happened these past years, and yet it felt like we had never parted! Jane and I used to boxercize together and also worked for the same company eventually, but then somehow we drifted apart. I'm glad you found me on Facebook, Jane :-) Today we had a latte each, but none of us finished it due to talking so much hihi. I can really recommend Café Frapino on Hornsgatan though (very close to the pasta-place named Därmedpasta), we should be ashamed of ourselves, not finishing these exquisite drinks ;-) Därmedpasta is a restaurant I do NOT recommend these days by the way, last time we went my food wasn't even warm, and the time before that it simply sucked. A real shame cos it used to be a great place, and is actually where Daniel and I had our first lunch out downtown ever!

Eww I should'nt have had THREE hotdogs for dinner... I should've stopped at TWO!

I feel sick.

Sunday 6 September 2009

Balcony

And, due to popular demand, here is the view as seen from the balcony.. Here you go, dear Richard! :-)

Honey, we're hoooome!

1. Lilla Sällskapets Väg 11A - nice place but not an option, livingroom far to small!
2. Valutavägen 21 - ewwww, full renovation needed >_<
3. Sparbanksvägen 22 - third floor and no elevator, we didn't even go inside...
4. Skidskyttevägen 2 - Daniel and Lina are in LOVE! I'll show you why...

Entrance

Livingroom, you can see the extra room and also the kitchen

Kitchen

Kitchen, with the dining table to your left and the balcony behind you.

The extra room

Closet, in the bedroom

Plan drawing

The estate manager (which was super nice!) had sold apartments just like this one a couple of weeks earlier and apparently the final cost is between 1 700 000 - 1 800 000. Now we know where we want to live :-D

I love you, man

Sunday morning, all out of breakfast but still have some coffee, mohahaha! Have no idea what the weather is like today as we haven'tbut we have decided to take the quad to look at the apartments on display. We have four apartments on our list today;

1. Lilla Sällskapets Väg 11A at 12.30 - 13.15
2. Valutavägen 21 at 12.45 - 13.45
3. Sparbanksvägen 22 at 13.30 - 14.00
4. Skidskyttevägen 2 at 14.00 - 14.45

And then one apartment to look at for fun (it lacks a balcony which is one of our must-have's but looks really nice and is on the top floor)...

5. Nioörtsvägen 40 (a bit further down the street where we already live)!

A busy schedule, but oh so fun :-D Typhically me I've already decorated all the apartments in my head and can totally see myself fooling around in the kitchen looking for the decilitre measure. Grow kind of mushy thinking about how it will be Daniel and I doing these things, will be different buying something together rather than just me moving in with him. We'll be moving in together. It's not like I don't like it here or don't feel at home, don't get me wrong, I love this apartment! Just that we'd love a little bit bigger place and I don't think we're quite ready yet to move out of Stockholm - saving that for later hihihi.

I can hear the washing machine finishing up - stoopid, I've just painted my fingernails! Red, like the sparkling red leaves on an autumn tree :-) Perhaps I should've planned my activities better today...

Like doing it last night, while seated in the sofa watching I Love You, Man? Which turned out to be a great movie hihi, thank you Mia for recommending it to us!

"Friendless Peter Klaven goes on a series of man-dates to find a Best Man for his wedding. But when his insta-bond with his new B.F.F. (best friend forever) puts a strain on his relationship with his fiancée, can the trio learn to live happily ever after?"

Wish us luck today! /mwah!

Friday 4 September 2009

So so...

Hm. Feeling quite low today. Even sad, to be honest. I wish I knew how to think and act when it comes to a certain thing in my life that's not quite working out how I'd like it to. Major aching inside and I don't know how to handle it. Some days I manage not to think about it at all, and those are good days! But some days it hits me and I just sink, and thinking positive feels like climbing a steep hill all covered in soap and slippery oil.

What is the purpose of these past events? I believe that everything happens for a reason, but I can't see why this time... At all! Daniel has said something really smart, and that is that people who can handle rough, get it rough, people who can't handle it rough get it easier. This sounds positive if you bear in mind YOU are one of those strong people that CAN handle it rough. One might wonder where the justice is in that, but who said life would be easy? ;-)

I try not to dig myself down too much (or at all) and I try to think forward cos I don't want to be a passive victim, but the truth is I can't really DO much about it - I can't force it to happen just because I want it so badly. And this is where the frustration lies.

Oh well, there's another day tomorrow :-) Will join my beloved but ill boyfriend in the sofa once work is over and watch movies aaaaaaall night and I will ruin this perfect week (food-wise) by an immense candy intake.

Blossa 2009

Our new Blossa is here!

For the seventh year since the premiere for Blossa annual edition mulled wine, Pernod Ricard Nordic is now introducing this year’s edition.

The taste is of clementines, imparting the traditional Christmas feeling combined with a vigorous freshness, which is also reflected in the intense orange colour of the bottle. The decor unites the figures 0 and 9 into something that looks like icing on a Christimas biscut or the trace of a skate blade on winters ice.

Enjoy :-)
For preordering, enter www.blossa.se (people who don't have to order - unless you want more of course - are mum+dad, Lena+Tord and Fredrik+Stephanie, cos I've ordered a bottle each for you guys!) or visit/call your closest Systembolag :-)

A Sigh Of Relief When It's Over.

Back home from an evening at my brothers and his girlfriends place in Sollentuna, about 10 kilometres north of Stockholm. They both have their birthday in September so celebrating them at the same time. However, this time we had celebrated them even earlier so today we invaded their place for some cake and coffee. Their apartment has gotten real nice with all the renovation and redecorating going on in there, I really love the kitchen! Shame on me I didn't have the presence of mind to take a picture >_<

If there is light in the soul,
There is beauty in the person,
If there is beauty in the person,
There will be harmony in the house,
If there is harmony in the house,
There will be order in the nation,
If there is order in the nation,
There will be peace in the world.

Instead of a flower we brought them something else... CHOCOLATE! And not just any chocolate (Mia, you'll love
this hihihi) - Eje's chocolate! This picture shows a mixture of light and dark chocolate cream candy, but this is only a small collection of what they offer. Eje's Chocolate Factory opened in 1923 and is situated in Stockholm - for those of you living on a fitting distance, their visiting address is Erik Dahlbergsgatan 25. Definitly worth a visit I hear, smell and taste! Will join Daniel there next time for sure :-)

Been talking to my best friend Caroline twice today, and the more we talk the more I miss her hihi. She came here for dinner on Sunday last week and it felt real good to see her again (had been far too long, don't you think? :)) Off to met again on Thursday - looking forward to it! We will be having either salad with haloumi in it (you know, the cheese that squeks when you chew it) or sushi, we haven't decided yet ;-)

Friday tomorrow and stupid Lina have signed up for a massage by Martin, a masseur that also has the license to break all the bones in your body. "Stupid Lina" because I can already feel the pain her naivety will cause me... A Huge Sigh Of Relief When It's Over.

Funhouse where I live

In the livingroom, comfortably seated in between all the pillows and with my feet up on the table, trying to listen to music from my phone but it got stuck so restarting it. I can hear the traffic outside and the occassional suicidal motorcycle driver, and my tummy is full with thai food (baby back ribs - lurvely) and a cappucino with cinnamon. Daniel and Micha (a co-worker of his) are in the kitchen talking business. Micha and his girlfriend Jorda had a baby a couple of weeks ago that they've named Linnou (Lina was alredy taken of course :p) so Jorda is, for understandable reasons, at home. Micha sent her an MMS with a picture of the cappucino - she's been nagging Micha about getting a coffee machine like ours cos she loves it so much hehe.

Had a quite smooth day at work today, has been some ups and downs of course, but today has been alright. Can't seem to get rid of the sore throat and aching sinuses though which suxx. Keep forgetting to eat the L-glutamin which (supposedly) should enhance your immune system and prevent from getting ill. Shame on me! I've even forgotten to take my iron pills! Oh well, somliga straffar Gud genast, as we say it here in Sweden :p (Bad translation: "God punishes some people right away"). Richard, perhaps you can find a better translation of this proverb on that website you found earlier! I really enjoyed the translation of where goats are in your seat hahaha!

There, gotten my iPhone to work, listening to Colbie Caillat and her album Coco - love it! She's in Jason Mraz's album aswell doing a duett named Lucky which is where I first spotted her. She's got a really smooth voice and is very talented :-) Look her up on youtube! Right now got Feelings Show in my ears and really STRUGGLING not to sing out loud and disturb the two gentlemen in the kitchen!

And while on the subject of music I'd like to take the opportunity to promote another personal favourite; PINK! Oh my god, just listen to her voice, gives me goose bumps! Her latest album Funhouse is awesome! This video below is super scary but you can definitely tell she's got a sense of humour hahahaha! ./mwah to Pink for being so great!

I've also recently re-discovered Green Day which is a band I used to listen to a lot when I was younger. Awww I've missed them...Personal favourites are We Are The Waiting, Static, 21 Guns and When September Ends. Had no idea the later one was written after he had lost his father, can't say it makes it less sad...

Ooh luxury! Daniel just came in here to give his ADORABLE girlfriend an ice cream; Piggelin, my favourite ;-) If you eat it fast you may achieve a massive brain freeze which is part of the fun :-p

The hunt begins!

Daniel and I have, these past days, been talking about a new apartment FOR REAL. Of course, the subject has arised now and then as we (yes, let's face it) have too much stuff. It would be awesome with just one more room (!) and a balcony.

Mmmm, imagine a balcony... You can have breakfast there in the morning, read the newspaper (which we don't have any but we'd of course have to sign up for one), invite your friends over for some wine while watching the sun set, spy on your neighbors (which I'm positive is a lot easier from a balcony than from a kitchen window), have a cup of coffee and so on. A second room would really help aswell as we'd appreciate a guestroom! Would be nice to also have a better spot for a desk and our computers, today they have their own legs and move between the sofa, the bed and the kitchen table which I'm sure shortens their life span :-p

So, today, the hunt for a new apartment has officially begun! First target: Nybohovsbacken 31! This apartment has a great location; a lot closer to Liljeholmen Centrum compared to where we live now and the (soon finished, October 2009) indoor shopping mall with clothing stores like MQ and H&M etcetera. On our way over there we notice how there's only a 15 minute display of the apartment scheduled, apparently there had been a display Sunday. Oh well, we get there with ten minutes to spare (mohaha!) and begin the tour. Once we managed to get in, that is - there were atleast 6 other people there (excluding the estate agent)! The hallway looks ok, we had imagined the size correctly, but once we enter the livingroom we quickly determine we could not fit our furniture in there in a million years!

OK, so moving on (perhaps we could rethink the furniture, not a big deal). The balcony looks alright, not too big (eh, is that even a conceptual possibility?) and not too small. The first bedroom (let's call it bedroom numero uno) is OK in size, it has a window and a WONDERFUL view! However, there are two doors going in and out of this room; one connecting to the livingroom (where we went through) and one connecting to the kitchen (which felt quite odd, I'd rather have the bathroom close by as I more often need to pee than I have to eat... in the middle of the night). Meh, don't you? :-p Summary: a difficult room to furnish!

Alright. So, the kitchen is cute. And I mean cute - it's comfy but small, fresh in white but not fully renovated, we'd have nowhere to put our kitchen table INCLUDING the chairs, and who'd like to eat dinner standing up?! We move back into the hallway (the kitchen is connected with both the bedroom numero uno and the hallway) and enter the bathroom. The bathroom is fully tiled in white and blue with blue covering one wall and white the rest. It has a window which we just love and a bathtub (which we'd toss out), a hand-basin, a modern wall mounted toilet and prepared space for a washing machine. Once we manage to get out of the bathroom (about 1 000 007 people blocking the door) we enter bedroom numero dos. This one looks like the first one, just seems to be missing a window... Since we had discussed everything while taking the walkthrough we didn't need any more time in there, so we handed the broshure and apartment details back to the estate agent and said hasta la vista, baby.

The hunt continues the 6th of September at 12.30 PM.

Comment of the day

As you all know I work at Pernod Ricard (previously named V&S Vin & Sprit AB, including The Absolut Company - the vodka), in the reception and conference facility. It's a fancy and modern building with an eight stories high opening in the center and a full glass ceiling, which provides a lot of daylight. We are three working there, Viktoria, Jessica and I, and our boss Susanne, and the three of us work by a rotational schedule, so for instance, week 1 you are responsible for the reception, week 2 for the conference facility and the events, and week 3 you take care of the switchboard and incoming and calls (but also work as a "spider", which means you are a back up for both the reception and conference facility). We meet a lot of people, both employees and all sorts of visitors.

Some more intelligent than others.

Today, Viktoria had a couple of women arriving for a meeting with one of our employees, and when they arrive to the reception they notice a queue in front of the computer where you register for your visitors badge.

- Oh, one of the women exclaims, they have a cash dispenser!

Her friend looks at her and says
- No, that is the computer where you register.

. . .

- Aah. Really. I seriously thought it was a cash dispenser...

Totally made my day! :-D

Fredrik!

Happy 28th birthday, dear little brother! ♥
