Today is Fathers Day.

I've just lit a candle for dad, it's right beside my bed where I am now. My little brother sent me a short movie clip of him, Steffi and Caiden lighting a rice lantern - it was beautiful ♥

I have recently discovered the most beautiful voice. The singer is named Katie Melua and her voice is pure magic. I'm amazed at how her voice and words just shoot straight into your heart - mezmerising <3

Wow, I realize it's been ages since posting here - I hope you are all well and haven't succumbed to the boredom of waiting ;-) I'm good, back on track now after being ill with the flu; fever, coughing, sore sinuses and throat. Lots to do at work, and soon finishing up my own project of redecorating our conference room. I promise to post pictures when done!

Tomorrow will be a lot of fun - my manager and some colleagues are on a conference in the archipelago and I'll be joining them for the team activity of KAYAKING! I've packed some warm clothes and hope I wont fall in...

Hola bubbelitos! Today was my first day at the office for a week, left work Monday last week as I got a heavy nosebleed due to coughing (now that was a first...). Started off working from home Monday and Tuesday, but then decided I probably just needed to rest, so that's what I did. Relalalaxa! Never went to the doctors but got some coughing medicine at our local drugstore, and started feeling better after a couple of days - wohoo! Been wondering what's wrong with me; one reason is probably that the event 1,5 years ago has finally caught up with me - no use running anymore I suppose.

My wonderful manager confirmed to me today that I can have 5 weeks off in a row which were fantastic news! This will be the first time I've ever had that long off work - 3 weeks to go now!

Daniel and I went to Strängnäs (about an hour west of Stockholm) on Saturday morning to watch a car racing (rallycross in swedish) - great fun! Up to 5 cars each race, 3 laps, some were very impressive drivers! Approximately at 1 pm we went to Tjula (which is just outside of Eskilstuna) to see the drag racing - OMG such cool muscle cars!!! Huge adrenaline kicks just watching! Had finally gotten around to buy Brassestolar that quickly became two of our most precious belongings ;-) You can easily put them back so you're almost lying down, was soo comfortable ♥ Our faces were kinda sore when returning home though, had been in the sun all day - looked like two pandas... Inverted ones...

BRASSE-STOL

Off out with work tomorrow. There will be a bus picking us up at 3.30 pm, going to a very secret location, and then dinner (also at a secret location). Looking forward to it! Oh, and by the way, I can now confirm that my current manager is the best one I've ever had :-)

Did I tell you I had hoped to get a hold of the supercool ABSOLUT Converse shoes? Well, now I have - wohooo :-) They're white, and instead of the Converse logo on the ankle there is an ABSOLUT VODKA logo, and also the text ABSOLUT on the heel instead of All Stars. The sole doesn't have the usual pattern but instead has ABSOLUT carved in it - AWESOME! Just imagine me walking with them in the winter, printing ABSOLUT at every step haha! Oh, and I bought a pair of green Converse on Sunday when meeting Caroline at a shopping mall in Sollentuna. Lovely to see her again, been a while now.

Summertime

Aloha! Summer is closing in, although today wasn't very warm. Had a huge meeting at work (also all our other offices around the world had the same meeting at the same time) about Responsible Drinking. Afterwards, everyone went outside to have a picture taken and jeeez it was cold! It does look pretty though with all the trees blossoming and blue skies and waters :-)

Always a lot of people walking up and down the pier, or sunbathing, and sometimes swimming! Not a very uplifting sight when trying to work, I tell ya :p

Have had some busy weeks, and more busy weeks to come, attended training twice (PowerPoint and another training named "The 7 Habits - read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People? AWESOME - if you haven't read it, you should!). This meaning I haven't had the energy for much else.

Went up north to Lingbo in Hälsingland on Sunday last week to visit my grand mother who is ill with cancer, and to visit dad at the memorial grove. It was a sunny day, stood there looking out over the meadow, thinking of dad, and then nearly laughed outloud between the tears as there were no cool cars passing by. Dad would've really liked some cool cars. Oh, I have to tell you: I was sooo shocked the other day - my dad loved Tina Turner, and as I walked for the subway after work I nearly crashed into a woman looking just like her (apart from the clothes of course, but who knows what she does behind closed doors?). I had the phone in my hand pushing the PIN code before realising I couldn't call..! Isn't it weird how your mind shuts down on difficult things like that? I had FORGOTTEN!

Spent this weekend in the good company of Mimmi and Stefan (who were secretly married in Thailand a couple of months back), we all went to Macoteket to welcome Mimmi to the dark side - she bought a MacBook Air 11"! Finally, I must say, we've been trying to lure her over for ages... ;-)

This is what we saw as we had dropped them off to go back home - first time I've ever seen a camel! I did have to google though as I wasn't sure if it's the camel or dromedary that has two humps - google is your friend.

Now - before I fall asleep, time to quickly look at some nice places to go this summer on our holiday! If you have some advice on where to go, do tell me!

Freeday

My double sided throat infection has now (hopefully) met it's match - went to the doctors for a diagnose as I could hardly eat or anything due to the pain, and was subscribed antibiotics. Now just waiting for it to disappear as this really is getting boring; not doing anything other than sleeping and reading, and now I'm all out of books :-( Have to get the following two books for my Trudi Canavan trilogy The Black Magician. Hopefully back to work on Monday, lots to do but not had any energy to work at all since falling ill. Really weird how a THROAT infection can also give you headaches and feeling sick, to the point where you want to throw up?!

Tonight will be a night of movies with my sweet Daniel, the cats will probably keep sleeping. Here's the not-so-little-man Morris, keeping the chair warm hehe.

You can really tell he's tired, I'm sure it takes a lot of energy to watch over me lying in the sofa all day... :p

Bleh

I'm in my bed, sore throat and fever :-( Double bleh! Mr Headache is also present - they're like the trio of fun! The cats came into the bedroom this morning to keep me company, but after getting some rosehip soup and water (all I can swallow) they left me to look at everyone passing by outside from the kitchen window. It's 6 degrees Celsius outside and greyish, and it was snowing yesterday. Apparently the warm weather will return this weekend though, let's just hope I feel better then.

Went to Forum Nacka (a big shopping mall about ten minutes from where we live) this weekend with Daniel to buy some books. I got two written by the author Trudi Canavan and Daniel got one by Dennis Lehane, the author behind Shutter Island. We were also looking for a good book about stretching but none of the ones they had were good enough. Will keep looking!

This little man just got back into the bedroom to see what the rattling was about, when he discovered it was only the boring computer he lay down to watch the birds outside instead.

Z for Zleepless.

Been a while since sleeping this badly - having headaches while trying to relax is not really helping. However, I am looking forward to a beautiful and sunny day in Arboga. Daniel and I are visiting his parents, we arrived yesterday and going back to Stockholm on Saturday. Ate some Easter Eggs (the ones full of candy) after a lovely bbq hamburger dinner and some beer - yum! Today, after breakfast, we'll be going outdoors to begin with the chores of the day;

1. Daniel fixing the BMW 540
2. Lena and Lina cleaning away brushwood
3. Tord cutting trees

This probably sounds weird but I'm looking forward to working outdoors, and with the weather being just AWESOME one can't wish for anything else! ;-)

1 Part Lemon Juice
1 Part Triple Sec

HOW TO MIX THIS COCKTAIL

Stayed at two hotels in March when attending the ABSOLUT AKADEMI; we started off in Åhus (southern part of Sweden) where we stayed one night at Åhus Gästgifvaregård (which isn't very luxurious but kinda cozy and, I think, is the only hotel in town). The next day we went to Stockholm where we, after visiting the ABSOLUT ICE BAR, checked in at Lydmar. Lydmar is a luxurious hotel with a scandinavian design, sort of masculin in attitude and very nice - lovely beds!

Well, as I can't think of a word that begins with U other than Umbrella and U-boat (crappy imagination today) I might aswell tell you about my wonderful day today - Daniel and I went to Länna Sport in Skogås to pick up my NEW BIKE! It's a Nishiki and I probably loved it in a previous life too; I love it that much! As soon as we got back home I swapped to jeans and a wind jacket, went downstairs and took the best-bike-in-the-world for a ride! ^_^

It was wUnderful! ♥

Richard, I couldn't find the pink helmet you linked me so I got a regular one, as a matter of fact I got a white one to kinda match the beautiful bike ;-) Can't wait to go to work tomorrow!!

Sciaphobia = fear of shadows. Yes, that's me - fear of shadows and the dark - how adult is that? Always gets worse after seeing scary movies, like for instance after watching Paranormal Activity (the first one) I couldn't sleep with my feet outside the blanket. For months! Or after watching the second one; being skittish about entering the bedroom all alone to pull down the curtain. Wow, I sound like I'm seven years old! Tops! Well, they do ask me for my ID every time I'm at Systembolaget to buy booze, mohahaha ;-) They're 13 years off, but hey - I'm not grown up yet (or so it seems)!
