Happiness

Happiness! Mixed with worry indeed, but still happiness! Most of you already know, but I can't help but writing about it here (and I've been waiting a long time to do this - slooooow weeks!);

Daniel and I are having a baby! ♥

This is a huge deal for us, it's been a long and winding road with massive bumps. This time it seems to be working ♥ We've seen the little one three times now, his/her heart is beating strong and he/she seems very active in there, moving around, waving and kicking :-) Too little to feel his/hers movements, which is why we're grateful for the sneakpeaking at the docs :-D

(which is a very good thing as we're both having a hard time grasping this miracle)

No idea yet if it's a boy or a girl but we will definitely want to find out! What's your guess? :-)

The Voice

Evening! Dan and I are in the sofa watching "The Voice" on TV - some of those contestants have amazing voices! The whole point of this show is to listen to the voice ONLY - the four judges sit with their backs to the stage and can't see the singer, until they press a button to let everyone know they like the voice, then they're turned to see the owner of the voice. Kinda like True Talent, also an amazing show.

It's a Public Holiday so worked half day yesterday and was off work today - long weekend :-) Hope you all will have a great weekend!

You should've been 62 now

Today would have been the day you turned 62, dad - January 4.

I've been thinking of you all day, wishing we could celebrate you for real, see you open those presents slowly as you always did, driving us all insane and loving it! Watch you push your glasses up after noticing them gliding down your nose, very often with your middle finger but not always aware of it. Laugh with you when joking about grabbing the middle piece of the cake and not start at one end. Try to be quick about pulling the plate back after you had served cake and tried to bury my thumb in all the cream. Hear you guess what's in the present before opening it, and then carefully examining your gift with great interest.

The first day

This is the first day of the new year - 2012. I have high hopes this will be a fabulous year! Spent the last hours of 2011 with two friends, having a three course dinner in our apartment, playing family games, and then later watched all the fireworks from our balcony. People sure put a lot of money in those things, they really should charge people for watching ;-) Morris and Diesel seemed fine with all the noise = huge relief!

Today has been very cold, had both snow and rain, and also been incredibly tired..! Stayed up until 2 am, then woke several times through the night, so haven't had a lot of rest. Daniels mum and dad came to visit around 11 am and they brought some of our favourite cookies to brighten our day! ♥ Off to Därmedpasta for lunch (a great pasta and pizza place "down town"). I do suspect they had forgotten my order though as I didn't receive it until after having been asked twice at the table what I had ordered, and then finally got it when both Daniel and Lena had finished their meals. Oh well, lots of customers in there, and it's good food :-)

Time for work tomorrow after a week off, feels weird but I comfort myself with that this will only be a short week due to the public holiday on Friday, so only working 3.5 days - lucky me!

Now let's all cross our fingers and make this a wonderful year!
