J

In ancient Roman religion and mythology, Janus is the god of beginnings and transitions, thence also of gates, doors, doorways, endings and time. Most often he is depicted as having two heads, facing opposite directions: one head looks eastward and the other westward. Symbolically they look simultaneously into the future and the past, back at the last year and forward at the new.

It's been quite an eventful series of events during this past year, year and a half. I wont list them all, but I can't say that all of them have been joyful or happy. The worst thing that has ever happened to me happened a little over a year ago - my father suffered an immense heart attack and passed away.

Most people told me that I would feel better after the first year without him, but that truly felt like a kindly meant lie - how would I not miss him as much just because a year had passed? All the times I wanted to call him or meet him were like knives stabbing me, seeing his picture created this horrible lump in my chest that wouldn't go away even though crying my heart out. Doing or seeing things I know he would have loved, hearing his voice in my head, no more seeing him happily riding the snow mobile - the list goes on.

Without being rude to anyone I really haven't enjoyed anything this past year, nothing has been really funny or moving or great. I've just been in my little bubble of sadness, anger, hopelessness and feeling of not having anyone to rely on. Dad would be there for me no matter what, I was his little girl. But now I'm not panicking every time I see his picture on the shelf, the lump is still there but now I can look at it and not cry every time (sometimes I do avoid looking at it though). I still miss him as much but it feels a tad easier now. I'm trying to look forward, remembering him, instead of looking backwards, being lonely without him. And I'm still his little girl.

J for Janiform. Having two faces.

G

This is actually a swedish word for a world of pleasure and yumminess. A word for something that you really can't live without. Something that is very much associated with weekends. You can probably guess what I am thinking about (Mia, I'm sure you know anyways haha)... ;-)

G for Godis.

E

Ever happen to meet someone that makes you feel instant empathy/sympathy? It could be an elderly man, bent over the food he's bought at the mall, slowly putting it into the paper bag, his hair all white and his hands trembling. Or a chubby little girl sitting at the bus station, her backpack almost being too big, she's looking so lonely and it makes you wonder if she has a family and what her friends are like - so much hoping she has those.

E for Empathy.

Sunny Sunday

At the kitchen table in Arboga at Dan's parents house, finished breakfast a while back and looking forward to a good day :-) The sun is out and the sky is beautifully blue - lurvely! Unfortunately it's quite wet outside so I wont be able to go for a walk in my mocha boots... Perhaps when I get back home I can find some more durable shoes, be a real shame to just stay inside all day!

Brought with us the movie Tangled yesterday - one of the greatest animated films ever made!! (I could put a million exclamation marks after this...) The girl doing the voice of Rapunzel is named Mandy Moore and, I swear, her singing gave me goose bumps! Very funny characters, the ones I love the most were the chameleon and the horse - hahahaha the horse reminds me A LOT of Morris with that nervous, intense energy! Lena seemed to enjoy the movie as much as we did, and Tord was snoring so he was probably quite comfortable too ;-)

Have a good Sunday! :-)

Cleaning frenzy

I had a very pleasant surprise this morning - it was Wednesday! I had thought it was Tuesday and felt the whole week loom ahead of me... I know I've probably said this before but I really don't understand where all the days actually go, my weeks seem to consist of only Mondays and Fridays! Having this blog really helps me keep track, well, a little better atleast ;-)

After getting off work today I went to Liljeholmens shopping mall to meet with my very sweet friend Jane and her two gourgeous daughters Nellie and Nova. We spent some time walking around the mall, then benched ourselves in the very fancy restaurant the Golden Seagull (McDonalds). After about five minutes two guys our age sat down at the table beside us, and a few minutes later a man entered and sat down at the table beside them. He began asking them if they could spare a burger, or some french fries or some soda, and they told him no. He kept asking them, and then turned abusive, telling them they were stupid foreigners that should go home and that sort of stuff. I got sick of his abusive and nasty attitude and asked one of the staff to toss him out. Unfortunately the guy turned out to be an extreme coward and did nada, but we were later saved by a bypassing policeman that came to pick up his dinner. Phew!

After I got home I pulled out the vaccuumer and then later swabbed the floor, all the while the dishwasher and washing machine did their job. Which reminds me, the noise has stopped so I should get going again ;-) But before I leave - the Dyson vaccuum cleaner is da SHIT!

Working from home tomorrow morning, some dude from the contractor that built these buildings will be here between 8-10 AM to inspect our apartment.

Sleep well, I know I will!

Good night!

In bed now, another long day at it's end. Best part was of course when my little brother came to visit for dinner along with his gorgeous son Caiden :-) I made spaghetti with meat sauce with garlic and basil, even Daniel liked it..! Can add another dish to our repertoar then mohaha!

Caiden seems to really like it at our place, he walks around with a cat toy in his hand chasing the cats, they are still very cautious but getting a lot more relaxed now. He's a very happy boy, easy to put a smile on his face and to make him laugh He loves music and so we put on some music after dinner and he was dancing all over the livingroom floor - soo cute!

For those of you not fully familiar with the Swedish launguage, TRAKTORFÖRARE means TRACTOR DRIVER :-)

Good night!
